Why "Iunctio"?

Ah yes, our trusty name.  Iunctio is latin for something that connects, 'a connection'. We thought this was particularly appropriate given you are here because you can't 
connect to the places you want to! Iunctio is pronounced ['ju:ŋktijo:], or for those of you that can't understand the transcription try [YOON-CT-TEEOH]. We''ll get an MP3 up eventually!

So, how did all this start?

This wee project was the brainchild of a particularly effective slacker. Many years ago he was sick of not being able to access gaming sites while at work. So he decided to look into alternative ways to access the sites. He setup a web proxy on his site and passed it round his workmates. Soon everyone in the office was slacking off and enjoying the fruits of his labour. He then opened the web proxy up to the public for free; this proved incredibly popular, and because of it he was left with massive monthly bandwith bills. So, in an attempt to help pay hosting costs, he setup a small subscription to users who wanted access. This soon picked up and became very popular amongst the social networking addicts, who propogated the sevice to their friends. It was at this point he decided to setup a dedicated site to the cause, and here we are!
